킹카운티 메트로(King County Metro)가 8월 31일 워싱턴주 오번과 페더럴웨이에서 호출형 대중교통 '메트로 플렉스(Metro Flex)' 시범 서비스를 시작했다. 킹카운티 기르마이 자힐레이(Girmay Zahilay) 이그제큐티브 등은 목요일 오번 트랜싯 스테이션에서 개통 기념행사를 열었다. 시범 운영 기간은 2년이며, 오번에서는 오번역과 사운더 열차, 페더럴웨이에서는 페더럴웨이 트랜싯 센터와 링크 경전철로 이어진다. 이용자는 지정된 서비스 구역 안에서 앱이나 전화로 예약하며, 차량은 메트로가 운행하는 미니밴이다. 요금은 일반 메트로 버스와 같은 3달러이고 버스나 경전철로 갈아탈 때는 무료이며, 노인·장애인·저소득층은 할인을 받고 18세 이하는 무료다.
