킹카운티 메트로, UW 등 캠퍼스 연결 버스 노선 개편
킹카운티 메트로(King County Metro)는 9월 30일 워싱턴대(UW) 개강을 앞두고 시애틀·보셀 캠퍼스와 연결되는 버스 노선을 새로 만들거나 바꿨다고 밝혔다. 메트로와 사운드트랜짓 버스, 사운드트랜짓 1·2호선 연결 일정과 노선은 8월 29일 개편됐다. 북부 킹카운티에서는 372번 노선이 폐지되고 레이크시티에서 UW 시애틀 캠퍼스를 잇는 72번 노선이 신설됐다. 동부에서는 271번 노선이 폐지되고 220번과 270번이 신설됐으며, 270번은 벨뷰 다운타운과 UW역·유디스트릭트역을 연결한다. 남부 킹카운티에는 페더럴웨이 메트로 플렉스(Metro Flex)와 164번, 166번 등 신규 노선이 생겼다. 메트로는 이번 개편이 킹카운티 각지에서 UW 캠퍼스와 지역 대학으로 가는 연결과 속도, 신뢰도를 높일 것으로 기대한다고 밝혔다.
