킹카운티 메트로, 렌턴·켄트·오번 I라인 공사 진행 중
워싱턴주 킹카운티 메트로(King County Metro)가 렌턴, 켄트, 오번에 17마일 규모의 신규 래피드라이드(RapidRide) I라인을 건설 중이라고 9월 18일 공사 소식을 통해 밝혔다. I라인이 개통되면 렌턴 트랜싯센터, 켄트 트랜싯센터, 오번 스테이션을 연결한다. 공사는 주로 도로와 인도에서 진행되며 통상 작업 시간은 월~금 오전 7시부터 오후 5시까지이고 일부 야간·주말 작업도 있다. 공사 기간 임시 주차 제한, 차선·진입로 폐쇄, 160번 노선 등 일부 버스의 임시 우회와 정류장 이전이 예상된다. 메트로는 8월 31일 오번과 페더럴웨이에서 2년간 운영하는 호출형 교통서비스 '메트로 플렉스(Metro Flex)' 시범사업도 시작했다고 밝혔다.
