연방웨이에 사는 53세 여성 제니 윤정 리(Jenni Yoon Jeong Lee)가 7월2일 시애틀 연방법원에서 전신사기(wire fraud) 3건, 은행사기(bank fraud) 2건에 대해 유죄를 인정했다. 리는 한인 커뮤니티 회원들에게 투자자문가 행세를 하며 돈을 받아 개인 용도로 썼다. FBI 수사 결과 최소 28명의 피해자로부터 300만달러 이상을 가로챈 것으로 드러났으며, 피해자 다수가 은퇴자금을 맡긴 고령자다. 선고는 9월18일로 예정됐다.
