알렉산드리아·알링턴 해안에 홍수 경보 발령

국립기상청(NWS) 볼티모어·워싱턴 사무소는 24일 오전 10시 47분(동부시간) 버지니아 알렉산드리아시와 알링턴 카운티 해안 지역에 해안 홍수 경보를 발령했다. 경보는 25일 금요일 오전 10시까지 유효하며, 특히 만조 시간대에 위험이 크다고 밝혔다. 조수 간만으로 저지대에서 지면 위로 최대 1피트(약 30cm)까지 물이 찰 것으로 예상된다. 킹 스트리트와 유니언 스트리트 인근 건물까지 물이 다가올 것으로 전망했으며, 조수는 평소보다 1.5~2피트 높다. 알렉산드리아의 다음 만조는 오후 7시 45분과 25일 오전 8시 3분이다.
