Major milestone ahead for Revive I-5 as northbound Ship Canal Bridge construction nears completion

SEATTLE – After nearly 10 months of construction and long-term lane reductions, the Washington State Department of Transportation is preparing to restore northbound Interstate 5 across Seattle Ship Canal Bridge to its normal lane configuration.

워싱턴주 교통부(WSDOT)는 10월 21일 시애틀 Ship Canal Bridge의 북쪽 방향 I-5에서 줄어든 차로를 원래대로 돌릴 준비를 한다고 밝혔다. 남은 공사가 계획대로 진행되고 날씨가 건조하면 이르면 10월 30일 금요일부터 11월 2일 월요일 사이 주말에 차로를 복구할 수 있지만, 작업구역을 없애려면 I-90부터 Northeast 45th Street까지 북쪽 방향 I-5를 주말 내내 모두 막아야 한다. 날씨가 맞지 않으면 차로 축소는 작업할 수 있는 주말까지 이어지며, 작업구역을 없앤 뒤 급행차로는 정상 운영되지만 일부 야간 통제와 차로 축소는 계속될 수 있고 남쪽 방향 공사는 2027년에 예정돼 있다.
